Thinking of taking our GPS to the USA when we go but need the latest map.Would prefer to get the card to insert.Any ideas about buying egonline which is thru Australia or the States which has a better exchange rate at the moment.Any hints would be appreciated. We have a Garmin Nuvi 7600.

i would say community maps would be the most updated of all maps. Perhaps there is a forum you can download the USA map and load it into your device.

Thanks for the info.Have been wondering if we would be better to buy a GPS loaded with maps when we get there or buy the chip from this end and set it up before we go!

load a free map on a chip and get a better one over there when you need it

I know you can buy them on an SD card, ask some of the major retailers of Garmin.Checked the Garmin site, they're $79.99USD. Dont know how much a new GPS is, but they seem to sell ok on trade me with overseas maps on board. Could buy one there, bring it back afterwards and sell it.
