Its not revenue gathering.

What did you do! Back up when you saw the flash and then drive through again!

friendly_prawn, Feb 27, 10:03am
I never seen any when I got my ticket. Does there need to be a magical flash before they are allowed to issue you with a speeding ticket.
Cool, I didnt know that, I wonder if I can use that excuse to get off. :-)

thejazzpianoma, Feb 27, 10:46am
Yip, read it and posted a response to a thread about it in general. Thanks for the link though it was only a fluke I saw it.

richardmayes, Feb 27, 11:04am
And. yet another day of driving a beautiful old car on our beautiful old roads, as fast as conditions and the law permit. No speeding tickets here.

So happy!

jenny188, Feb 28, 5:43am
Yep flashing a speed camera is a lot of fun. You have to do it really fast or it won't take your picture. Remember to hide your face first.,
Old ones in 70's and 80's flashed with an orange flash which was very bright after dark.

i wonder where they think who will pay the fines once we all got no more jobs. look at syria thats what we can look forward to and the government is working hard to make it happen . I recon in 2 days they will anouncesince it was so sucessfull in gathering money with the lower speed tolerance they keep it for good. plenty more money to be made then. thats how they think.

i-n-horz, Feb 28, 9:19am
456 = def, reversed = fed.hmmmm! no offenses,tickets,criminal records.

johnf_456, Feb 28, 9:30am
Lol, that would also be a lot of new zealanders that do not have any records. Not everyone in NZ breaks the rules constantly, if you know your in the wrong just man up and pay up.

johnf_456, Feb 28, 9:30am
Its great isn't it, driving and not worrying if the cop will bust you around the next bend.

thejazzpianoma, Feb 28, 9:39am
Its a conspiracy!
Quick alert Alex Jones!

modie61, Feb 28, 9:39am
Yip,so the more money the grubberment makes out of you speeders, the lower the tolerance will get, they arent silly are they !

trogedon, Feb 28, 9:54am
;-(Anywhere we should know about !

thejazzpianoma, Feb 28, 10:02am
Pretty much the Government has got used to collecting about 100M a year from infringement notices.

Trouble is now that the the useful/sensible bit of speed enforcement has done its job, and those expensive speeding tickets are not being issued to those intentionally speeding. (Because they have mostly learnt they lesson or lost their license).

We now have the problem of a system that counts on the 100M a year. The only way to sustain that sort of income is to start issuing lots of little tickets to drivers who don't intentionally speed, by splitting hairs and catching them out on technicalities.

To get away with that they continue on their hideously expensive PR campaign that we pay for to try and make is socially unacceptable to complain.

rob_man, Feb 28, 10:25am
Forest Hill Rd, probably on the last downhill stretch to Valley Rd. I didn't even see it after 3 pics so it must have been hard to notice, I'm usually pretty on to it about speedcams. That particular day was a bit fraught though, down to Keeling Rd to pick up a trailer, back home to load up a canopy plug, back down to Keeling Rd to drop it all off and back home again.
Then carry on making a living.

modie61, Feb 28, 10:55am
Yea so they arent silly are they ! We are,or should i say the people that speed are.

thejazzpianoma, Feb 28, 11:54am
By your and the Police's definition of "speeding" everyone is silly then.

r15, Feb 28, 11:57am
they will just keep making more and more activities illegal.make enough rules and somebody is bound to be breaking them.

skin1235, Feb 28, 1:17pm
FP, they're going to build a state hospital and name you as principal contributor if you keep this up

by the way it's not a 10km allowance, it's 10%, and 10% of 50 is 5, you can and will get stitched for 56km/p/h, same issue at roadworks, the 30 km signs only 'protect' you 'til 33 km/p/hr not 40 km ( thats when they have the 10% allowance)

now stop grizzlin' or they'll reduce the town limit to 40 and the roadworks to 20 just to make sure they p*** ya right off

elect70, Feb 28, 2:36pm
Govt got to look atcollecting$$ anyway they canto keep all thedolelot in lifestyle they are accustomed to .

allan_mac, Feb 28, 4:11pm
That's one major leap from comparing a speeding infringement with murder - a bit of a strawman really.

If you don't want to pay the revenue, it is a fairly easy tax to avoid - stay within the speed limit. You do, or should have, a speedometer in front of you, and you should be aware of the legal speed limit.Getting caught 3 times in one day at the same speed camera, is certainly a hard lesson to learn, but hopefully one learned nevertheless.

richardmayes, Feb 28, 4:56pm
Had to slow down a bit for some roadworks this morning. But I made up for lost time on the back road a bit later on!

Still no speeding. still no crashes due to "watching my speedo".

Still happy!

pollymay, Feb 28, 4:59pm
I get pulled over for not even breaking the law. is there something I'm meant to be learning here! "don't drive the cars you like, that's a no no. Buy a corolla like everyone else, safer communities together"

i-n-horz, Feb 28, 5:07pm
Your not the F.B.I are ya john!.just josh'n ya mate.yeah I know where your come'n from, the plod always do a double check when I say I've got nil convictions on record.on record ;)
