Does anyone have any info! I have heard people saying that they are cutting the prize money down to 5k . There are no entry forms on the waikaraka web site yet and Easter is getting closer . They fill the park to max capacity @ $25 a head plus they have usually have a sponsor for the derby . 10k was a really good incentive to put the effort into finding and building a car but 5k.It hardly seems worth it

Not a fan of waikaraka anyway, or western springs for that matter. Like huntly though, waikaraka was nothing but grumpy officials and poor track surface. Even the derbies were weird, if I was going to build another car up I wouldn't mind just making a bender class car out of an old commodore.

'Hardly seems worth it' to be in with a chance to win 5k & have a ball doing it! wow.most I know simply do it for the fun of it & if they win anything up to 1k its an added bonus!

Cost of racing over 18 months = $12000(including bike). Prize money won so far = $150. Hardly seems worth it. Might as well give it up for good. NOT! The money isn't why I race my bike at all. OP obviously has his priorities wrong.
I am not down the back of the field either. Never finished out of top 3 in class.
