Depends on the price.

I have to decide tomorrow .private sale I will get checked over by a mechanic in the morning the dealer one will have to buy from the photos and will be put on the transporter the dealers is slightly more expensive but doesn't need anything done to it. The private one needs tyres etc which makes them about the same price

11000 for the dealers 325. 10000 for the private 320 needs tyres and a couple of small jobs

Thanks what's your thinking on this pleAse so Ican try and understand

s.c, Mar 2, 7:55pm
I'm just concerned over the extra klms

spongefrisk, Mar 2, 7:58pm
Get a warranty from the dealer might give you a little piece of mind

mugenb20b, Mar 2, 7:59pm
I would go for the 325.

s.c, Mar 2, 8:04pm
I dont think there is a warranty from the dealer but they would stand behind it surely !

s.c, Mar 2, 8:08pm
Are you saying the 325 because of the dealer or because it's a better car!

mugenb20b, Mar 2, 8:10pm
I have driven both, the 325 was better in my opinion. But, it's up to you I guess, what ever feels right to you. In fact, I would go a step further and get the 330i, it's got a 'stroked' 325 engine basically.

Singapore import!

s.c, Mar 2, 8:19pm
Have to choose between these two as have sold my vehicle the 325 has a sunroof which I'm not sure about and then the higher klms shame I carnt see it but it's in Nelson the dealers have offered to bring it down free but then that's another 500 klms on the clock

s.c, Mar 2, 8:19pm
I think both of them are Japan imports the private sale 320i is anyway

pre purchase check if undecided. You dont have to be in town to arrange one for you and for the bucks, should give you peice of mind in your decision. If its a rushed, do nothing. until you are sure

Thanks the private sale 320 is getting checked first thing in the morning will decide then and also ask the mechanic they specialize in European cars

why would you whant to buy such an overated car for that sort of money shure beats me 1o grand thats five grand to much bmw sounds real good but try telling some one what it realy means and you wont get the same reaction ! i drive a car from the brevarion motor works doesent have the same ringdoes hope you got deep pockets these cars where made for autobans not putting round town,,,,,

I don't drive around town it's an hour away from where I live

The 325 is the nicer drive and you will have the benefits of the CGA and gauranteed title behind you if you buy from a dealer. Bit of a no-brainer really if they are both the same price and only 20,000km apart.

Ok thanks for that that was my thoughts too just being a dizz the 320 is slightly cheaper but works out the same by the time I buy the tyres etc just was concerned about the extra 280000 klms

SC--lookmy advice here is simple-- COOL YA JETS.
What is the utter desperation to buy NOW.
Think about this--How often do you have $10000 to spend.!
Rush into the situation and you could end up blowwing $10k on a pile of junk.(I do hope not but its possible)
I genuinely feel that you won't be upset with either car for NZ driving conditionbs so it really comes down to the actual condition of the cars.
First thing to do is establish for certain where the car has come from and what service history comes with the car.
I"m biased strongly against singapore imports due to the history of electrical failures.
You MUST get a prepurchase inspection carried out on both cars.
Regardless of if its from a dealer or private you need to know its mechanically sound. Yea the CGA etc are there but what about in 18 months or two years time. What if the dealership is closed down. The CGA won't offer protection if the dealers gone or the failure is outside the "reasonable" time span.
I suspect that given both cars are in essence the same price that one will shine over the other.
Incidently I'm assuming the 320 is the 2.2l tiptronic and the 325 is the 2.5l tiptronic
Ohh and if pushed to decide-Id probably opt for the 320 because with our speed limit I find the 2.2 "safer" for my licence to drive -ie the 325 in MY experience tends tosneak up the pase to around 120km/h where it sits comfortably.-again thats personal experience and I am a bit of a leadfoot

Thanks so much my thoughts too and with the lower klms and only one owner since imported from japen i got the 320 inspected this morning and it went through with flying colors mechanic said it is a good car he hookedit up to the computor etc etc he spent about 45 minutes going over it and washappy and he deals with lots of european and BMW.so I bought it it's so much nicer than my old truck

vtecintegra, Mar 3, 11:48am
The 325 is a significantly better car and the mileage difference is insignificant. Don't worry about the extra power neither car is exactly a rocket ship just the bigger engine gives a bit more torque which is helpful for moving the fairly heavy body around.

Also if the 320 needs tyres factor that in, you don't want to run very cheap rubber on these cars.

Why would the dealer stand behind it in the absence of a warranty!

Why not toss a coin between the two!
