How does this have a VTNZ wof

quickbuck, Mar 3, 9:38pm
Well, the daamage may well have been done since it was issued.

A WOF is only a sticker that says, at this date and time the inspector couldn't detect any defects. It is up to the owner to ensure the vehicle is kept up to that standard at all times.

So in the case of this vehicle, I would only go near it if I wanted a farm hack, and it cost say, $500, at most.

There may not be anything there that would fail a WOF. Maybe you should contact the seller and ask.

how are the sills on the body of a box chassis vehicle structural!

quickbuck, Mar 3, 10:30pm
Well, they aren't.
The removal of the rear bumper was more of the issue for me. if I cared.

So what is wrong with it that it wouldn't pass a warrant!

intrade, Mar 4, 5:56am
crushed sill or any underfloor damage usually wont pass. this might do because its got its own chassy. if it dont has a full chassy then the damage needs to be fully repaird for wof. no rear bumper required plenty hilux toyota without one and a wof on the roads

Must be the ripped seat.

sure you're not just vtnz bashing

Could be a good car after all it is from Invercargill.

My giver of warrents said to me about 4 months ago that sill damage used to be a fail but now its not anymore. I asked as i had a rather large dent in my sill I thought i would have to repair but nope not anymore.

zooki007, Mar 4, 11:35am
I wouldn't be going back there then seeing as they have no idea of the rules.
The sill is a major part of the vehicle's crumple zones. Any damage can make that zone fail causing a person injury or even death in an accident.

How much do you value your life and that of others that will be in your vehicle!

That's what the seperate chassis is there for.
And as mentioned above, who is to say that this damage has occured after the wof was issued!

modie61, Mar 4, 12:11pm
This one had a VTNZ wof too.

Doesn't matter if there is a full separate chassis or not. Please check the regs for further information etc.
But yes, damage to that op particular vehicle could have been done post WOF. Didn't say otherwise.

Post #12 was for #11 who's WOF provider has no idea of the WOF regs.

I value it quite high actually. As for the WOF inspector who does my car I have complete faith in him as ive been using him for years.I asked him before warrent was due as I thought it was a WOF issue but he said, no longer. This is dents in the sill area. A split Im sure will still be WOF issue. And interestling depending on the damage the sill becomes stronger. Might not work as desiredif its near a crumple zone but if you in a big enough accident to worry about the dent being an issue (in my case) im pretty sure your gunna get badly hurt anyway. This was on a car I traded 3 months back and it has been issued a new warrent from a Ford dealership with out the sill being repaired. So it seems two different outfits in two towns are getting it wrong!

well it passes if the sill is not structurally miss-shaped that sill on the car above is completly out of shape. however
