Exactly, I have been there and done that very thing along with other changes about 20 years ago,

Was done by using longer rods and short throw Aussie peculiar crank.

yep if anyone could post the outside diameter (preferably in mm) of the shaft BELOW the drive gear of a distributor KNOWN to be either australian (which i suppose would make it a bosch) and/or a KNOWN to be american distributor, that'd be really interesting and also conclusive.
