What engine is in the one your client has! Would it be worth spending $500 on it getting a VIN check and then seeing how big the list is! If its a major then you could sell it. At least you could tell potential buyers what it might need.

Good on you for looking after your customer's wallet.Agree you should get the VIN checkout & if it can be vinned that would greatly improve its chance of sale.Otherwise, $$$ spent on a cut & polish & mega-groom of everything incl engine & bay & clean-up so it looks ok is as far as he should go.He will take a bath on what he has spent, but no use throwing good money after bad & those Lambo replicas don't really make it.(Seems only AC Cobras are the only ones that get near to build costs)

lol- mate. I'm 6'2" & I ( quite literally ) can't get into the bloody thing.can only move it around with the door up & my head sticking out. !
Ouch, looks like a bit of a roughy! If there is any decision to quit it as is I would be interested in having a stab at it. Always had a desire to build one of these up with a snarling small block in it.
what a joke, driving around in a replica. it not even built to a high standard,, the front looks wrong. only dicks drive around in replica cars

Happy to take a Graham Berry AC Cobra, Fraser Lotus 7 or Proteus C-Type Jaguar off your hands.

I remember having a poster of the Contach on my wall as kid and that don't look much different to my untrained eyes. The real deal is still fetching big money in the UK. But I dunno about paying $70k for a repilca

either way,i think a VIN check is way to go,if it needs heaps of work,or not much,at least whoever buys it will know what they are in for. Probably is your clients baby, hope he is'nt to offended with what he gets offered for it.

Kind words, .but no, car is no longer anyone's 'baby' Just a decision to quit for least possible $$ damage

As someone pointed out, speak with a LV certifier.I think that the vin process and low volume cert go hand in hand. I presume that the car does not have a cert but it will need one. Good luck.

Good luck with this for both you and your client. I suggest a VIN or LV inspection report would be money well spent. A report from an independant third party will have valuable information for buyer and seller. It will help identify the skills or dollars needed to complete the project. Will weed out the dreamers from the serious. I hope it makes it, all legal, onto our roads some day.

Why not use it as a track car!No worries about VINs or certifiers.Could be fun (for those under 6ft 2" anyway, so that rules me out too.).
whqqsh,
Mar 25, 2:50pm
exactly. & youd lose count of how many fibreglass hot rods have won top awards. oops 95% of T buckets & roadsters are glass too, are all these owned by dicks too! Stock car bodies (Ford Ys, Camaros etc) are as well, maybe head down to the track & tell those boys what you think lol

owner needs to cash it out. other more pressing needs.

So, thankyou, fellas.have to make the call tomorrow. .the consensus is clearly get a report, & offer it as-is with a list to complete.from LVV/cert /VIN .Was hoping for some guidance on end value, but, to be fair, who the hell would know ! Thankyou for your input, .appreciate it. Have a relaxied Sun. nite, & a good week. :)

Sorry, meant that for a prospective purchaser, it could be a decent track car.
