What I was thinking, originally thought I could help but Im in Aucks, then saw the size, Ive been in workshops where the apprentice has been given a boot up the bum for trying to throw out smaller pieces than that

2 meters x 400 ain't exactly off-cuts.
Whoops - didn't read above.

not being a smart ass at all, actually was thinking (as stated) if you were closer I could help, but you must admit a 2 metre long piece of ali isnt usually seen as an offcut. hope you have more luck with your shorter measurements

not taking the piss mainlander but we use to get that all the time. People coming in and asking for offcuts of leather, vinyl, foam etc. they think that by saying offcuts that they are going to get it for free. If it is in our stock, then we kept it as it has a value, not a throw away, if it was worth nothing it would have been put out in the bin and disposed of.

way big for scrap. just estimating now, i can make a toolbox out of that size and sell it for $130

Exactly. Anyone working with sheetmetal will be able to smack some off to your required measurements.

its because of idiots that dont read the listings properly.if you read it im happy to pay.full sheet is 170a 1/3rd maybe a bit dearer,if anyone has a left over piece froma home job was what i was asking, not a free handout, read first then make comments.thanks for the helpers.

If I cut a sheet, the piece I dont use goes into the OFFCUT rack, it;'s not scrap or free, but then the op didn't ask for a freebie, so if its not a full sheet it has to be called an offcut, or do you lot have another name for it!.

well when we buy our materials from our wholesaler, they are usually off cuts, unless we buy a full roll (50m).So then going by your standards every thing we have is offcuts.

What i was trying to point out is that when someone comes into our shop and asks for offcut of say black vinyl, i go to find them a suitable peice, plonk it down on the bench and say "that will be $10". and normally you get a bemuse look like your shitting me, i wanted your free offcuts
