I didn't find what I was trying to look up on Google Maps, but I DID randomly come across this.

Woody, The reason they are out over the centre line,i think it is an offence in some USA States ( i`mpretty sure it is in Texas) to go past a Cop who has pulled someoneover, too closely, I have driven quite a bit there and often wondered why people justsuddenly swerved wide when they saw a cop talking to a motorist, so i asked a few truckies there,who said the cops are hard on it with them.
