Ea misfireing

johdoe, Apr 6, 12:19pm
my ea misfires but when i take of no2 led it stops the popping Y
CAN U HELP

By doing that you are increasing the already high voltage to the spark plug so indicates one of four things, Faulty lead, faulty spark plug, faulty dizzy cap / rotor or lower compression on that cylinder.

johdoe, Apr 6, 2:33pm
ok leads ok spark plug ok. can timming do this

jmma, Apr 6, 2:47pm
When you take off the lead, that cyl is no longer firing, do comp test and check valves.
Where is the popping!

mugenb20b, Apr 6, 2:50pm
If the timing was out, then it would affect all cylinders.

Assuming the ignition side is OK, I would be looking at mechanical sides of things, like compression check, and see if the lifters aren't stuck.

dent, Apr 6, 2:59pm
are you taking the lead right off the plug and away from it!

johdoe, Apr 6, 5:26pm
it sounds like a stuck valve its popping out the back

johdoe, Apr 6, 5:28pm
yea its off the plug an away from it an it gos fine no popping just running on 5

ceebee2, Apr 7, 10:42am
What tests have you done! , e.g used a multimeter across the leads set to ohms.

babyonboardnz, Apr 7, 11:08am
burnt valve! just watch if your running with out no 5 lead on you can get a build up of unburnt fuel in your exhaust system (coil maybee)

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 7, 11:35am
Sounds like a burnt valve. Do a compression test.

johdoe, Apr 7, 1:29pm
left it over night reset the dizzy an now she all fine. just need to get a tuneup now.
i cant do 1 without a timinglight right!

robotix1970, Apr 7, 3:37pm
if you know how to use a timing light properly thenyou could ask someone if you could use their one.

v8_mopar, Apr 7, 7:39pm
I would be looking at the leads, coil, dizzy or ignition
module. Prob the later
