So you had a camera set up in your letterbox also! If you were that worried they were not going to pay for it, I wouldn't have agreed to them picking it up without you present.

Thieving.
How was OP supposed to know they would not pay for it! Seems to me this is a common arrangement and they have been caught out before.

Some pavers, more topsoil and a good dose of grass seed will get that front yard in shape again. ;-) Thieving pricks otherwise.

Agreed, sadly some people just can't help themselves and have to troll.

Good idea for the camera system. You can improve the quality of the images though with better lenses on the cameras. Then you'd have really clear face shots. For $22 though they're taking a big risk as that's just theft. I'd never leave anything out for people to pick up when I wasn't home.

I have no idea how easy it is to improve an image but you would think every dairy, service station etc that seem to get knocked over would have better ones. They always seem to be grainy crappy pictures that are impossable to identify the face.

I wonder if the guy in black has any idea the stuff wasn't paid for.

Yeah, you'd think TVNZ could get it right too. You see the prickson the news outside courtwith grainy pixalated(SP!) faces.
trogedon,

I would. If they had good feedback there is no reason not to trust them.

Yip.

Good quality cameras with good lenses (set correctly and focused) are not hard to get, or install. Problem is a lot of shops, dairies, service stations and other places don't want to spend the money on them. They'll ask for the cheapest system you can supply. I know, I used to supply and install CCTV systems. The other thing I notice is there's a tendency to always mount cameras up high, looking down. That's fine, but you also need at least one camera at head height - looking straight out. Overhead cameras don't do a very good job of catching people's faces, especially when they have hats or (more commonly) 'hoodies' on. The quality of CCTV surveillance gear is getting better, as are the images they capture, but not everyone is updating their older systems.

so if he did not pay, what did he put in the mailbox!, I'll go back and check but it did seem he had something in his hand on the way in, not in his hand on the way out

Take a closer look.

Despite it all looking very suspicious. The evidential problem is that the cut to the second camera could be anybody's hand at anytime edited into the footage.
bellky,
Apr 9, 10:16am
That's true but why would OP 'frame' this person. Maybe it's a combination of real and manufactured 'evidence'!

Am I missing something here! Was there a voiceover explaining what is suposedly going on I cant hear!Otherwise what is it that is happening.gt escort has givin no explanation that I know of about any of this, apart from busylittlemiss, which is what excatly! Those guys didnt appear to be hiding themselves, looking around to see whos looking, wearing hoodies or false nose's.He came looked at it, got his mate to help him then put something, or nothing in the letter box. One would assume its a trade me pick up gone wrong. And why would you leave goods sitting in plan view in your driveway anyway thats just asking for trouble. Have I missed an explanation somewhere!

Pretty clear for home security though. Even ones you see on police ten7 issued from banks are inferior. This recorded to a harddrive! Good idea for publishing on youtube though but like said an explanation b good for general viewers. Is there a nz site that u can publish these to!

i love the panasonic PTZ cameras. you can read a number plate from over 500m away. super easy install with power over ethernet.
flitt,

Ohhh, I'm not saying or suggesting OP is doing that at all. Just saying, that's all.
