Haven't seen BA for a year or two and haven't seen the 212 since he restored it.Not the sort of vehicle for Roycroft as it is for pre 1960 cars plus Formula Junior. Not sure how many entries to date as I think they run under two permits.VCC & MSNZ.VCC had 65 at the last count, but too many drivers seem to enter late and cause all of us extra work.

Thanks. yes I knew the Roycroft was for pre60s cars, but thought I would ask. By the way, from a much earlier thread, the T212 was the only one in NZ and your boarder may have assisted in getting it here but it was far more complicated than that.Incidentally been talking to one Syd Fox recently who I bought another car off, you may remember his name from the late 60's and early 70's. Cheers John
Interesting thread this is cause I am a lady. I would have been about 10 and living on a straight country road at the time. Ron Roycroft Ross Jensen and the late Bruce McClaren used to come down to have time trials on the straight which they started at our road gate. Spectators being the locals (we are talking mid to late 50s)would park in our front paddock to watch from the side of the road. I remember Ron Roycroft bringing his Lycoming Special to have a go. Bruce Mclaren arrived in an old Burgundy coloured Jaguar. I got his autograph (which I still have) and also Ross Jensens. Not sure why a 10year old would remember this so well but its something that has stuck in my mind. Seeing this thread made me add to it.

I think I grabbeda photograph of that burgundy McLaren Jag as it was on display at Pukekohe in about 1983.
