The kit i got also came with 3 different grades of foam pads.
I used the buff with the first 2 steps but did step 3 by hand cos i wanted the thing gone lol, was over wiping splatter off everything by then haha.
Normally i'd use the buff for step 3 and then triple mist by hand with MF towel but it looked ok so i stopped at step 3.

Hey, from start to where you are at now how many hours you put into it! It may show people the true value once you put the hourly rate of a large paint shop to it.
I dunno gun', since i work by myself at home i don't really keep track of the "time" as such. I muck around a sh1t load but i guess i'd have 70 hours in it so far.
Dunno what shop rates are but if i told you how much i charged for this you'd reach through the screen & slap me LOL.

No I wouldnt, I do homers for nothing like what there worth. But my time is free as such so dosnt have to be alot.Yea and id believe 70 hours.Prob at least $70 an hour plus materials in a big shop. I only what we charge but we are small and have lower rate.

You know, what really p*sses me off. The idiots who ask for a price to do their cars only to have them say "Oh man that's too much, my mate can do it for half that" WELL f*^k off & get him to do it AND to this standard.
Maybe i should just quote stupidly high $ on them cos then the f tards will say "oh, you must be really good mate cos you're prices are real high".
I charge what i charge because i like painting, if you have no real plan on me doing the job then f*^k off, your loss.
Bit of an old car painter rant there LOL.

Reckon. . .But in all seriousness,. John, you have skills.- You should never be afraid to charge what you're worth. ( no use to anyone if you're broke, aye ! )

Yea true but people have a problem a one man band the going rate, especially if its home based senario. I know if I said id paint ya car for 5k at home Id prob be told to go away but the same person would have it painted through the shop where Id do it anyway for 5k or more. People want everything for nothing when comes to homer work.

Was just confirming peoples opinion of car painters being "grumpy old pricks" mate haha.
The only problem i find with charging what i'm actually worth Ant is the fact i do this from home in my garage so everyone thinks i'm a "backyarder" and they wouldn't get the finish they want, also them thinking that, they aren't able to understand how i could charge so much cos i'm a "backyarder" When in reality with the support from 'er in doors' i'm able to do what i love and be able to do it from home. but as i said, people just think "backyarder"
Is that even understandable LMFAO

LOL kinda what i was trying to say but shorter.
gunhand,
Apr 8, 7:53pm
and what people dont understand is doing that way you have more time to do it your way and not have "shop" pressure on you to get it out the door yesterday. (not that I have that problem) So in fact they may well get a better job. Unless its your mates fathers cousins sisters brother who painted a car once with a vacum cleaner and a hair dryer then who knows waht Fup you will get. Funny thing there tho is people DO pay big money for a mess.

Ya know, . you're both saying the same thing. But, at the end of the day, 'backyarder' is usually synonomous with "gate-post warranty", ."here today, gone tomorrow", etc, etc. You guys don't fit that bill. You're both professional, both would "put it right" if customer had a legitimate beef,. & both probably get repeat buisiness. .sh*t, - I work from home, too. but anyone comes down the drive trying to tell me I'm a backyarder can just keep on driving. .
