OK, so I've read about Singaporean BMW's before and all their electrical issues due to atmospheric conditions.Does that correspond to all vehicles that have come from over there!
Just noticed one of the cars on my watchlist has Singapore at the bottom of the CIN and hadn't really thought about that when looking at all these cars.Do many cars come from Singapore nowadays! If so, how would you find out if a vehicle was from there if it was now privately owned!I'm guessing the 'Country of Origin' bit on Carjam covers that - I'd always assumed it was where the car was built.
Or do I not really need to worry about any of this!TIA

Have to say, I don't think I'd want to own a car imported from Singapore, unless it was very inexpensive.I lived there for years so I have a little idea of what the climate does to things.
Country of Origin on the Carjam report refers to the country the car was shipped from. It's not always accurate though, I see many BMW's listed as 'Germany' that were actually made in the USA.

I got told to stay away from BMW Singapore imports when I was looking by a number of people

OK, so Carjam isn't that reliable on the Country of Origin matter. Is there any other way of determining where a car may have come from once it's in private ownership!
By the way I'm not looking at Beemers!

On Carjam the 'Previous country of registration' field under Registration should be accurate

I've had experience of Singapore imports.I'd be careful. It appears that the one from singy are often not what you would call mainstream models and sometimes parts can be a bit of an issue.Given the huge number of cars about I'm sure it's possible to avoid the singy ones and still get what you want.

It was mainly to do with Mercedes wiring looms wasn't it! Lexus seem ok.
