Is it a whole bunch of animals climbing onto a Subaru Legacy !

mugenb20b, Apr 10, 4:35pm
Well, obviously it's not that important. If OP doesn't know what car they own, I doubt there's any point giving him advice.

grangies, Apr 10, 4:55pm
They may be busy right now, shooing away the pesky cattle off the Legacy.

richardmayes, Apr 10, 4:58pm
Me no know why.

p_rock, Apr 10, 5:05pm
My car (not a Mazda) did something similar. replaced cam sensor, problem solved.

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 10, 5:23pm
That's what the OP should do then.

mazda capella 1990 ,1800cc fuel injected!

nixon222, Apr 10, 5:51pm
and how hard is it to change cam sensor!what does it do!

mugenb20b, Apr 10, 6:11pm
Well, lucky for you, your car won't have one, so don't worry about it. A cam angle sensor is used in a distributorless ignition system.

As for the overheating problem you need to check the following:
1. Water level or check for water loss.
2. Thermostat operation.
3. Fan operation.
4. Water pump operation.
5. Radiator water flow and blockage.
6. Teekay head check (chemical head gasket test that's done by a garage).

And, as for the no start problem, check the basics first, but an engine needs three things to run:

Compression, spark and fuel. Eliminate one at a time. Check spark plugs, HT leads and water or oil contamination to HT leads, distributor cap and rotor. Fuel pressure and flow. These items won't cost any money to check if you do them yourself. Also, clean out the throttle body and air flow meter. Let us know what you found, and we'll go from there.
