I was wondering if there is anyone out there, that has a reasonable knowledge of the Series 2 Stagea M35 VQ25DD 2.5ltr V6, they are a really good car, I am wondering if anything can be done with the automatic gearbox as they seem to bleed alot of the torque during gear changes, when you are trying to accelerate hard! Finding any information on these things is like searching for a needle in a hay stack. would appreciate any comments, or links to speak to someone, Thanks.

Its probably a CVT gearbox and they do feel "funnier" than normal boxes. I would get the car scanned by a Auto Sparky first to see if the computers logged any faults. Whats the mileage! what octane fuel do you use! Service History! The DD motors tend to carbon up and affect performance.

No, they aren't a CVT gearbox, that much I know, I have De-carboned the motor, increased the breathing, the problem isn't the motor, you can hear and feel it doesn't shift into the next gear quick enough so the power drops off.

Are you saying that the transmission holds the intermediate gears too high into the rev range, or that it feels like the throttle is closed for too long during gear changes. or something else, perhaps the actual change is too slow!

You can't do a manual conversion to the series 2 M35. Yes it appears it just takes too long to change gear, thus losing the built up momentum! The Automatic is doing everything it should, I just want it to shift between the gears 1st - 2nd, 2nd - 3rd faster, the actual gear change.
