Hi, anyone know where I can obtain some 17mm. pins 82mm. long! These are for a 100 year old motor and would be the largest size i can squeeze into the Rods.

Ring around some engine reconditioners, or ebay.

maybe you can take pistons and rods to a machine shop and they maybe able to boreout piston !

what engine is it, at 82mm it is going to be a big bore (88 to maybe 95mm), would it even be metric!, and a long stroke,

Engine is from a 1909 Darracq which has a 86.3mm bore and needs this length of pin as the top of the rod is very wide and has a 14mm pin at present. 17mm is as much as the rod will stand.

you can make your own machined and hardened then grinded to size. would be no problem for any propper engeneering shop

also be awear of waight balancing with the pin.

If it's a 14mm pin at present why the need to go out to 17mm!

why do you want to change it, it the small end is out of round it can be sleeved, if the pin holes are shot they too can be sleeved
as intrade alludes to, overboring the pin holes and the rod could lead to some serious issue with balance
isn't that original size about the same as early bedford/vauxhall 6cyl

What sort of revs does this thing do and what sort of compression is it running at! If it's moderately low in terms of pin stress levels, a hunk of EN9B could easily be turned up to suit. Also a bit curious that it's metric - when did imperial start to be forgotten about!
