I live my life a quarter mile at a time.

Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullshit. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free.

You almost had me! You never had me - you never had your car. Granny shiftin' not double clutchin' like you should. You're lucky that hundred shot of NOS didn't blow the welds on the intake! You almost had me!

Ask any racer, any real racer. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile; winning's winning.

That wing is huge??

nightboss, Apr 26, 11:12pm
Is it true that drag racers try to complete everything in under 10 seconds!
Or should I be asking Mrs. Kevin!

mugenb20b, Apr 27, 5:21am
Favourite car movie.I haven't seen all of them, but I like 'Duel'.

As for the first F&F movie, it was way too cheesy and crap. Absolute garbage.

floscey, Apr 27, 5:42am
I am the night rider .you ask the toecutter he knows who i am.

attitudedesignz, Apr 27, 7:06am
I've got plenty but the 2 proper "car" movies are Two Lane Blacktop & Running on Empty.

kazbanz, Apr 27, 7:27am
Ive never seen a car /bike movie that comes anywhere near the real thing.
Drag racing for me has been all about perfecting my starts for the "real" racing.
Funny thing is evenlast night-I took the kids out indoor karting.
Im still working on finding the "perfect" line and getting the power on at just the right moment to get the 7 or so hp working at its best.
Even that is better than watching it on a screen

richardmayes, Apr 27, 7:35am
The Bank Job.

Not a "car movie" but it has an XJ6 cop car, a P6B V8 cop car, and a Triumph 2.5PI Mk2 undercover cop car (which does a skid brah).

It's British Leyland heaven.

Going fast is the nature of every male, unfortunately this backfires on us sometimes

esprit, Apr 27, 7:59am
Le Mans. 'nuff said.

"A lot of people go through life doing things badly. Racing??

In summer '63 I was staying alive
hanging at the races, hoping to drive
When they were done with the weekend and loading the cars
I couldn´t get a pass so I went to the bar

I'm up in the corner nursing a beer
who should come laughing and joking in here
but Bobby Brown, the winer of the sports car race
with some friends and a girl, man, she lit up the place

Bobby was a wild boy - one summer
he knocked down a motel wall with a hammer
He'd do anything - one night for a bet
he raced through the cornfields in a Corvette

I thought it's got to be a thrill to be like that
with the beautiful girl and be king of the track
But the truth is when all was said and done
it was his Cobra I wanted - the car was the one

un_known, Apr 27, 9:07am
Damn straight. Thats the ducks guts right there.

kevin_the_kiwi, Apr 27, 9:43am
Not to be confused with knight rider! Would love a Pontiac like that.

berg, Apr 27, 10:19am
Funny car summer. A doco movie following Big Jim Dunn for a summer back in the day

attitudedesignz, Apr 27, 10:29am
Forgot 'bout that one.

Heart like a wheel, semi-bio' of Shirley Muldowney. (70s-80s top fuel driver)

berg, Apr 27, 10:31am
And I forgot about that one. Good old movies from when sex was safe and racing was dangerous

elect70, Apr 27, 10:49am
Yep someput everything into it .CertainTA guy lived in a rundownhousebut had the best of everything on the car .

un_known, Apr 27, 4:54pm
IMO kitt is nothing compared to the nightriders monaro.

"In the scene where the car crashes out, the engine has actually been removed from the car, and it is being propelled by a solid fuel rocket - there's no sped up film here, the car is really going that fast"

Thats right they strapped solid rocket boosters to a Monaro.

hfc2, Apr 27, 5:08pm
Try` running on empty`, old school aussie movie , gt ho,s ,dodges, 57 chev, monaro, pretty cool even today.

cjohnw, Apr 27, 5:15pm
The auto scenes in "Deathproof" are pretty awesome.

Pure Tarrantino.

nightboss, Apr 27, 5:20pm
The original "Gone In Sixty Seconds" not the Nicolas Cage one and the original "Gumball Rally"

berg, Apr 27, 5:25pm
