People only do crap like that if they regret the sale, You didn't have to do anything. Its like the feedback crap, I just don't give in now, say it like it is and expect neg feedback back.

Oh well lesson learned.Next time make up a receipt stating the conditions of sale and both of you sign it. Not your fault that people are too dumb to get independent inspections done BEFORE buying, and expect warranties from private sellers.

yea deffinatly, owell next time maybe not

You were very generous indeed. Even if sold by classified ad and by dealer, it is not certain that the seller would be responsible for 'bushes'. It's a used car after all, and the law allows for what is reasonable wear, considering age, price and K's. The fact that 1. your a private seller and 2. it was an auction and 3. you sold as is where is, you really didn't need to be so 'generous.' The buyer probably couldn't believe his luck.

As is where is does clearly say basiclyBuyer beware. But I must say it isn't a licence to commit fraud. Saying a car"runs mint" and 2 ot of 4 cylinders have no compresssion is fraud.

Imagine not selling as is where is and you did $1 reserve, got stuff all, new owner did a few mentals in their new car and blew something in the drive train, nobody who sells a car that way is going to cough up for somebody elses negligence and or abuse.

Unless the car is sold with a warranty express or implied (ie; from a dealer) you would think buyers would have pegged on to the fact that buying a 2nd car is the classic example of 'caveat emptor' - what you see is what you get, and be it on your own head to rely on anyone elses but your own judgment!
