I use the information of a site similar to carjam EVERYDAY, AT LEAST 20-30 TIMES A DAY and the information has a lot of mistakes. For example there is a KE70 Corolla, which says it is a Corona, I've seen many cars where the engine number is different than what the CC rating says, incorrect countries (like USA, except its japanese and RHD) ."Imported built up" definitely means "NZ new" and "bought in as a completely assembled car".

I'm probably wrong, but I was of the belief that "assembly type" was the status of the vehicle when imported into NZ, wether new or used. In the "pre-import" era, cars were either CBU (completely built up), SKD (semi-knocked down) or CKD (completely knocked down). SKD and CKD's were then builtup in NZ's assembly plants.

kowhai- All the "old shape" ipsums are belt drive. so definitely the 96 is belt. The best way to tel is if it has a 2.0l engine it will be belt drive--The newengine in the ipsum is 2.4l and is chain drive

I thought "Imported Built-up" meant it's a used import!
My NZ-New Civic says "Assembly type: NZ Assembled/Built" on Carjam.
