how do i remove the clearcoat laquer from the bonnet of my car. its peeling like sunburn. id like to get it off and restore the paint shine back. the car is black and the paint is still unfaded, just a mattblack under the peeling laquer.

You NEED the clearcoat to make it shiny. peeling it off won't help anything! .and you won't be able to remove the clearcoat without ruining the rest of the paint too. The only real fix is unfortunately a repaint

Yep its knackered cause in Japan the snow sits on them and contracts stuffing the paint. You have no option but to respray clear coat as that is what give shine and protects it. I have resprayed a couple with that and its a toal strip back to the base coat and start again, primer, base coat, clear coat. Its almost impossible to only sand the clear off and respray. Not worth the effort.
