HD is much smaller and twistier than Pukekohe, so no good for V8 super cars.more like a rally car circuit! Better for spectators than Puke, as you can walk around the in-field to see the close-up action and don't need binoculars.lol

The elevation changes appeal to me, I think it's a much more interesting track visually than Pukekohe and should be greatly improved when the rest of the track is built, is the infield viewing available during race meetings! if so it would be a better track for spectators than Pukekohe

HD is better for spectators than Pukekohe. For driving they both have their merits. Hampton Downs is a bit more technical and has more variety. Pukekoh is a "Balls" circuit that anyone can drive fast if they're brave enough.
While Hampton Downs ain't my favourite track in New Zealand to drive, I think it will be once the remainder of it is built. The lap is a little too short on the National circuit to be that interesting.
On balance, it's HD for me :)

HD is better, nice smooth surface, more technical to drive, is actually longer than Tasmania where the V8s were last time Taupo and Manfield are also great tracks

i prefer pukekohe, you can take passengers for rides on trackdays, unlike HD where you need a full roll cage

I like to drive both.
#4 - sorry, wrong. They are the same length at 2.8kms.However, top speed is higher at Pukekohe and for intermediate drivers/cars, there are only two braking points; the hairpin and the esses into railway.Jennian is flat out for many cars as it can be taken at 160kph plus, even in an older car.
Hampton Downs lap times are 9 - 10 seconds longer for the same distance, with braking for all cars at turns 1, 2, 4, 5 & 6, making it far more technical for all cars.It is far harder on tyres and brakes and fuel consumption.
As for a spectator (with a camera) , no contest.HD wins hands down.At normal and low key events, spectators are very limited at Pukekohe, particularly those wanting to take decent pics.
