Iveco Daily Overfueling

herby, Apr 14, 1:54pm
I have an Iveco daily 35S 2.8 Turbo has started overfueling, putting out black smoke, loss of power, have had the injectors checked,ok, checked turbo, checked all air intake, changed temp sensor, MAP sensor, checked timing, anyone got any ideas

yea you did not use a lubricant in the diesel like chemtech did you!

Also was egr checked for faults, should have been checked when you had airintake checked and checked its not crank breather oil coming back the intake.

That won't be the problem Intrade.

here is what to do Compression test . Egr system check and if all ok removal of injector pump assuming it is the older engine and checking it is not got a seal problem or K-line shim worn or worse= not enough luberication

It's an Iveco, what do you expect!

The vehicle has never missed a diesel treatment in the tank (Wynns EDT)
its done 320000klms common rail electronic injectors & does`nt have an EGR valve

intrade, Apr 15, 8:14am
if its commonrail then it has Egr i told you what to check compression test is the first thing and a leaktest on backflow of all injectors is how to check if the injectors are ok or not specific amounts in specific time in to a cup for each cilinder if all that is ok then it can only be a sensore that was not tested correctly that is faulty like airflow meter or crank angle sensore

have you had the ECU checked for faults! From memory they are a badge engineered Fiat Ducato so it shouldnt be too difficult to find a tester that will communicate. Also check your boost hoses arent swollen or split, split/leaking boost hoses are common on Ducatos, and I have seen the odd air-flow meter quit too. Both of these will cause rough running and clouds of black smoke.

Yes it is a Fiat Ducato motor but thats where it stops, Fiat dealers hav`nt the equipment to test it.Fiat plugs are different to Iveco
All hoses have been checked was one of the first thing I did all are OK
Doesn't have an air flow meter but has a MAP sensor andI have put a new one on

If you think it has an EGR valve can you please tell me where to find it normally it is between the exhaust and the inlet or on the inlet but there is nothing there no pipes going between the two
The injectors have been professional check and all are OK

Is the compression been tested! I ask again.

intrade, Apr 15, 10:24am
egr could be inside the head it self some mercs run it like that cant be deleted and head would have to be removed to clean it valve would be somwhere on head exact engine number to find on google how it is constructed.
I did own a 3510 daily and it had a well knowen sickness , I have rebuilt it at 200,000km as its sickness was pissing compressionpasst the rings .

www.carjam.co.nz should tell year and what engine code the engine post that here, as we need to know if it is commonrail or not but you having used winns edt means it wont be worn injector parts as that has tested ok acording to you So it be Egr fault low compression or a sender maybe coldtart sensore fault . and if its commonrail it be obd2 diagnostic i would say like fiat are also from 2000 onwards. below that no commonrail existed.

Its a 2003 Generation 3 ,4140 43S engine, the cold start solenoid also checked to make sure it was`ntputting fuel in after start up.
Its not OBD2 its 38 pin round plug like Mercedes but different
After the first 5000klms i used friction proofing every service also eng flush every service, i dont believe its mechanical, i took the cam cover off & its absolutely clean & no sign of any wear
I hav`nt checked compressions as i don`t have hi pressurecom tester
that will do it , it dose`nt screw in it press in.
