I am getting my van painted & was wondering if you have any pics of vehicles you have done with your "colour tastes" of paint & if they have paint codes too.

attitudedesignz, Apr 14, 12:03pm
LMAO, what does my "colour tastes" mean!

Yeah i know, my choices are a bit ummm out there lol.

What kind of van and what sort of colour are ya thinking about mate!

3962, Apr 14, 1:37pm
It's a Hiace & some sort of stand out colour but not shocking lol

gunhand, Apr 14, 2:06pm
What ever he does he needs to think of how it will look in a few years time. Some colours seem cool and trendy but date very fast. Hero colours are just that, for the moment. But interestingly some make a come back. Like Hot House Green and Tiger Gold, they came they went but now dont look to bad again. And if you find a nice modern colour be awhere some have up to 3 very expensive perals in them and those pearls make up almost half the mix and that makes it bloody expensive. Ford Rangers have some nice colours coming through for example but wow there expensive.

attitudedesignz, Apr 14, 2:19pm
I LOVE hero colours LOL.

Was never a fan of Hot House or Tiger, they were never clean enough for me. Mind you i never use the correct base, i always use somesthing to make top colour "pop"

Volvo made a colour similar to Tiger that was very clean but not as bright.

Yep pearls can make the colour expensive as heck but it also depends on what brand ya use, Atomic Mica prices vary hugely between PPG, Glasurit, Spies Hecker & Metalux.
Metalux was cheapest for the Atomic but Glasurit was for the Electric Orange, and they both had a third of the formula as xirallics, go figure.

Hey gun, ya do realise most of what we talk 'bout is gobble-de-gook to most on here aye LOMA.

bellky, Apr 14, 2:21pm
Yep gobbledegook and those pics you posted, well they're horrible.

gunhand, Apr 14, 2:22pm
Yep, but the same applies when I readother stuff on here as well, Im no mechanic so when they get to technical its over my head lol.

attitudedesignz, Apr 14, 2:28pm
LMMFAO, you're deluded if you think i really give a toss what you think. Those vehicles GET me work on an ongoing basis so the colours "work".

pollymay, Apr 14, 2:59pm
You're a very positive person. I should do burnouts in my bright red car outside your house one day to see what you think

gunhand, Apr 14, 3:03pm
Please present us with what you have painted lately Im always interested in what others do wether I like the colour scheme or not.

bellky, Apr 14, 3:03pm
Nah, I didn't think you cared, it needed to be said though.

bellky, Apr 14, 3:04pm
Nearest tarseal is 4km from my place. Good luck.

bellky, Apr 14, 3:06pm
I try not to paint cars (last one 21yrs ago). I get the best condition car I can and leave it at that.

gunhand, Apr 14, 3:07pm
Me to, I try not to but they keep turning up to be done lol, puts bread on the table. And I enjoy it.

bellky, Apr 14, 3:08pm
This is cool.

pollymay, Apr 14, 3:08pm
I think the mere colour of my cars would offend you enough anyway. I personally like the flouro green and orange one

3962, Apr 14, 3:29pm
There aren't much choices of pinks. I wouldn't mind a dark fluro pink lol.

attitudedesignz, Apr 14, 3:39pm
Well that's the fisrt post out the window LOL

Holden 'Strike me pink', Chrysler 'pink panther'.

I have a "dark" fluro pink here, will give it a stir & take a pic' for ya.

Pink would be ok but you'd have to offset it with black ie: tinted windows and/or black wheels.

grangies, Apr 14, 3:54pm
Google . Otbury Refinish Solutions and go to their Mangere branch.

Ask them to show you a Sikkens/Lesonal colourmap book.

There are truck loads of pinks available, to be mixed to a precise formula.

gammelvind, Apr 14, 6:24pm
Keep it up Attitude and Gunhand, we need to keep challenging the biege masses, that is the only way something new happens.

3962, Apr 15, 5:35am
I have black tints on my van although I may get them done again. A pic of that pink would be good. Code as well if you have it. I'll check that place out on Monday, thanks, grangies. Now off to the Manurewa market for breakfast.
