All the time.Im guilty of doing it too.
moosie_21,

Ratio's usually 10:1 or so. They will all bid at the last minute, always happens!
noodle34,
May 3, 4:12pm
Why watch it if your not interested in buying it!
noodle34,
May 3, 4:14pm
Yeah I thought so too but have relisted twice now with 90 watchers both times and no bids!

yup, advertised a Triumph chopper on here (ages ago now) 4 or 5 times, got around 200 watchers every time & no bids, plenty of out of town tyre kickers but as soon as I mentioned depositing half & I'll deliver then pay balance on delivery they disappeared. Ended up the first guy that turned up bought it without even hearing it running.

I often watch auctions with no intention to buy, 9 times out of 10 to see what it sells for as I Have same/similar to sell
smac,

Yeah I do it, and then I get annoyed when people do it to me. My prerogative :P
The reason I do it is to keep my eye on the parts market, so when I trade I know where the price should be. I also do it if I have something similar to sell, to see how the sale goes.
Some of the doors I just sold had over 30 watchers, and over 200 views. Only a couple of bidders at the end though.

Wow, that Vauxhall brings back some good memories, very nice! I like it but I promise I won't stick it on my watchlist, cant afford it right now to be perfectly honest! Good luck

To see what price you get out of curiousity haha.

I'll often have something on my watchlistjust to use as a shortcut to a particular category. Or maybe I'm just the nosey guy that rocks-up to the auction just to see what it goes for.

i do it all the time but i tend to bid just before the auction closes. i do forget about the auctions,,have you noticed that 99% of people who ask questions or wantthe seller to put a buy now price never bid.

There's nothing unreasonable or malign in this.
Be grateful that your potential customers are even bothering to look at your advertisement at all, it shows you are at least doing something right.

I wasn't getting shitty i was just asking why

I'am a new Internet user Have a car for sale on TM 2005 and only 16,000km old for the passed three weeks 290 viewed and 14 on watchlistNo questions been asked and no phone calls I would appreciate your comments

Same here. What does it matter. No harm in watching an auction.
robotnik,
May 6, 8:36am
As you have no feedback history and you're selling a fairly expensive vehicle, people might think it was a scam of some sort unfortunately.
xpfairmont,
May 6, 8:39am
They like what you've got just not the price or they have something the same and want to see how much it goes for
supernova2,
May 6, 12:02pm
There are often cars that i am interested in but IMHO the start point is more than the vehicle is worth so it gets put on watchlist so when it is unsold and relisted it reminds me.Occasionally after months it comes up at asuitable price then I bid.Simply really.

As a new internet user, you did very well to become a trademe member in Sep 2010! :)
skiff1,

maybe you have one the same and want to see what it goes or. Maybe you think it is overpriced and are hoping for a fixed price offer after the auction closes! millions of reasons, have you never looked in the window of a shop!
rumchippy,

Thank you for your commentsIts helping me to under stand the workings of TrademeWould you think and auction would stir up the watches!
quater,
May 6, 6:14pm
Yup I know the feeling, but the cheaper I make it the more watches I get, not making sales.
