Does anyone know how to transfer the ownership of a personalised plate if the current owner has passed away! My brother passed away and I want to put his plates on my ute.
You may need the executor to sign off and send a copy of the death certificate.

Have you got both the plates! Simply take them to LTSA, tell them you want to put them on your car, hand over your old plates then they reprint your rego slip, take your old plates then you put those plates on. Then after a month, ring 0800REMAKE and tell them you've got some plates you want to transfer into your name but you can get hold of the old owner. I have done this with some plates that were sold a few times and never transferred so I couldnt put my name on them as didnt know original owner. If you dont beleive me, ring them now & they will tell you what I just said.

Yep. The executor has the sole legal authority to wind up an estate, realise assets, reasign assets.
