What ya would also need to look at is value for money - i.e. - tail-lift deliveies at receivers end if they don't have a forklift, "going the extra mile" - delivering to residential address's etc (if that is your target market), as opposed to dumping at a local business. Also, what tracking service can they offer you for your freight. Typically, that sort of freight is shipped and charged by weight.

I would strongly recommend you DONT use mainfreight, they employ theives and refuse to pursue the issue or offer any compensation.
Mainstream on the other hand are brilliant, i use them alot and highly recommend them

never had probs with mainfreight, depot to depot was $120 last motor I did (chch to auck), engine was 220kg-ish. Take a couple of detailed pics just before you hand it over to them.

Agreed. Some of the others (like Castle Parcel ) used to freight big things now won't.
