EBC Greenstuff pads

Has anyone had experience with these in a racing scenario! Considering them for the n14 pulsar. Have skyline 4 pots on the front and most likely maxima 280mm on the rear. Car will have approx. 210hp and weigh 1000kg.

What we are looking for is a pad that will grip right from a fairly cold rotor, a lot of the work will be short sprints of around 2 minutes length and there is no opportunity to go in with properly heated up brakes, only mildly heated from the indian file lap or the previous attempt 5-10 minutes earlier. It will also need to stand up to circuit races of around ten laps, and maybe even a one hour endurance race. Wear rates need to be low in order to keep costs down.

So what are these pads like, are they going to be suitable! Are there any other compounds out there which I should also consider. I need to have a consistent coefficient of friction over the normal temperature range from only slightly warm right up to end of a 10 lap race because I dont think the rears are going to heat up at the same rate as the fronts and I don't want the F/R bias changing throughout the race.

Yes have had them on a car for 10 years. Top class pads (not totally dust free but I doubt you worry about that) They would suit part of your requirement because they work from cold and don't require warmup like the next pads up in the range (black.! yellow.!)They wear well. Mintex had a good pad too which you can check out. No comment on the rest of your question.

Yeah have run them in the mini on Manfeild and Taupo (where fade needs to be considered) and also in a hill climb (where they need to work from cold). Full marks on both counts.

I went with the Yellow Stuff pads on my turbo CRX and found them find for daily driving + track work

Where did you get them from, I've been trying to find the EBC Red Stuff for my STI

I know these work well, I don't know how the price compares

You really need two sets of pads. Most that brake well from cold wont like a ten lap adventure.
I use EBC yellow on my silvia (1250 odd Kg and 350 odd Hp), they are good, better than the mintex 1166 i used to run but next im trying Project Mu 999 which are apparently even better again. Im using them as a street pad and for the casual trackday, they get better with heat in them though.

Greenstuffs, aren't all that brilliant and will get eaten on track, although your car has good sized brakes for its weight so pads become less critical. Perhaps something like the Pagid RS4-2 blues would be an optimal choice.

I got mine from fortyone, i just emailed them with a part number etc, price wasn't bad either

Considering yellowstuffs for the front and green stuffs for the back. Mainly because the rears shouldn't get all that hot and I don't think will reach the operating limits of the greenstuff pads, but the extra coefficient of friction when cold should make them more effective but I have a proportioning valve to regulate the rear brakes as required. I would rather have too much braking at full pressure than not enough.

I dont want to go to a full race pad for the rears, just in case they don't get hot enough to make the pad worthwhile.

I did a test fit of the nissan maxima a32 rear calipers today and yes they will fit on the n14 GTi rear hubs but the rotors will need re-drilled. No problems doing that though.

Apparently southern brakes and driveline are EBC stockists so Ill go see them on Monday to sort out the pads.

I yep thanks, will give them a go, I went to Safe R brakes to get a set and they said they only had Green which i thought was strange seeing they had a big cardboard life size EBC sign of a blondy with big titties winking while grasping on to a set of EBC pads between her legs. Had me sold lol

Had a look on fortyone web page and they only list them for 2 hondas lol. had a look at nzperformance and they only show the green pads. might have to go endless instead!
