So I bought an aftermarket coolant temp gauge (which included a new sender and 2 adaptors.) off here last week. Wasn't till I went to replace old sender with new sender (and the adaptor that looked most likely to fit) that I realised it wasn't going to :/ It's maybe a mm out! This is on a 91 Mazda Familia interplay, and no I don't want to cut radiator hose and put one of those sender adaptor T's there.anyone else had this problem! Would some sort of engineering/fastners place have a suitable adaptor! Thanks in advance :)

Try Capital Instruments, They have a lot of adaptors for sender units.

Hoping for a local solution (I'm in Dunedin) but if it comes to it. Thanks

Also, if anyone knows off hand what size I need to go into the engine block thread that would save me unscrewing the sender and leaking coolant again!

ok, one more question - would repco etc stock this sort of thing - or is it best to go through an auto electrician!

Why not just get the real thing,,, either at a wrecker, agent or super cheap, Repco etc.I wouldn't mess around with an adapter.

Sender needs to be specific to the gauge.and using after market gauge as the original one on the cluster is dodgy and trying to avoid replacing whole cluster etc.
