Just watched an old episode of Top Gear last night - the boys were tasked with modifying a 3L V6 Renault people mover so that it would be as fast as an Evo 10 around the test track.
They didn't even come close and wasted 1/3 of their budget on race brakes, but they did restore about 39 lost horsepower through nothing more than a full service (plugs, filters, oil) and some new injectors.Dyno'ed the car pre-service at 167 BHP and after at 206 BHP!
I've never noticed a service making a big difference to the performance of any of my cars.It made me wonder if the injectors made the difference.Thoughts!

If your injectors are partially blocked you sure will notice a difference

Injectors were blocked on my celica. Made a HUGE difference, we're talking about 50hp. It was down a whole cylinder sometimes then suddenly after servicing them it went sooooo much better.
My old 4age used to backfire a lot from leaking injectors, serviced them and it suddenly got another about 20hp, was really noticeable on a tired motor. New dizzy cap, leads etc helps a lot to.

the injectors meter the fuel, if they are not working properly it would stand to reason the vehicle would be down on hp, like a blocked jet in a carb

Except they don't restrict the fuel, they don't close properly (like the leaking one above) and run rich, cleaning them helps them seal, and run properly.

So how do you clean them properly!I've tried those fuel treatment injector cleaning solutions in the past but never really noticed any difference.

Take them out and get them ultrasonically cleaned and flow tested.

a service can make a massive difference to economy, as well as power. clean filters, fresh oil thats not got heaps of contaminants in it, new plugs that arent gunked up, clean injectors that are firing through more fuel than the gummed up, partially blocked ones that were in there before . . . it all makes a difference
