Cool addition to the man-shed

IMO they are asking for too much when engine is due for rebuild. They should rebuild/replace engine then put it back up. I doubt the 25K quoted for the engine will be enough. Be nice to park it on the lawn though, prohibitively expensive to keep it airworthy

No good! Won't fit in the shed.

Somebody in NZ knows how much a "zero time" engine costs.

Aye bet ya it was a bit more than $25k too.

Obvious idea. if it was VTOL!

That's probably the same "zero time" engine for sale in 2008. Is£17,000 GBP!If so, then that's aboutAUD $27,000.
But yes, plus shipping, GST, and whatever it might cost to replace and certify the engine, and in NZ$, $25k might be a bit optimistic.

It seems that old excess-hours and thus non-airworthy jet engines can be bought relatively cheaply, I suppose that scrap value for titanium and cobalt etc would mean they'd never be giving them away.
