I just swapped my

Nissan stagea for a Holden premier hz1980 it's will need to be re complied but I was wondering if anyone knew what these are worth for both a un regested one and a registed one. Has a little bit of rust but the body is mostly good and straight. Or if anyone has a number for some one who know all about these.

Did I read that right. you swapped your car for another car of which you have no clue at what its approximate value might be .!!

Very appropriate user name in that case.

kheal, May 8, 4:21pm
It was my call to swap it. I have done enough research to know I will be able to get what it owes me. What I am trying to work out is a fair resale price. And my partner didn't say no clue anywhere. Just that she wants others opinions. I have a guestimated value of about $5500 of it.

Is that 5k before you spend a grand getting it legal or after!

grangies, May 8, 4:57pm
You may get around $5000 with no VIN. As long as the little bit of rust is actually little. And the interior and engine are still good.

The condition of all the chrome work will play a big part too. As good quality re-chromes these days is becoming rather expensive. Easily $2000 plus for bumpers, door handles etc on an HZ premier. And if the bumpers have rust or dents the price will skyrocket.

what was the Stagea's worth!

bubblzblonde, May 8, 5:31pm
It has some in the door and a little bit on the wheel arch. The chrome bits are in great condition as is the interior. Engine Bay needs a clean and 4 new tires

bubblzblonde, May 8, 5:32pm
It's worth about 4000

spud1991, May 8, 5:32pm
So im guessing the stagea was WOFd and Regd and you swapped it for a car with no reg or wof to sell on! Why!

kheal, May 8, 5:44pm
Simply because I believe the dereg holden is worth more than the Stag. Keeping in mind it is the top of the line with a good 308 and a good th 400 trans.

kheal, May 8, 5:45pm
The car is not mint but bumpers and chrome are all intact and good condition.

kheal, May 8, 5:49pm
Do some research before you open your mouth and show me where on trademe you can get a factory 308 hz sedan for $5000! Or less than $10,000!

mr-serious, May 8, 6:03pm
Its a good deal either way, you swapped out for something classy. Forget what its worth as there is only one way to find out and thats by putting it up for auction. What does it need for compliance!

kheal, May 8, 6:26pm
Cheers, I agree. Will need rust, tyres, handbrake and speedo cables. Don't know what else they will find

thunderbolt, May 8, 6:30pm
Actually I would not give you a bucket of cold sick for it, but each to his own.
I took the 5k figure from the tool who posted 4th in this thread, but what would they know right!

a.woodrow, May 8, 6:53pm
Don't think they realised what they've posted, two member names must get confusing for them

lordv81, May 9, 6:24am
It will cost you a couple of grand to get it on the road again at least. As the repairs and parts will have to be done by someone else as I take it you have little knowledge of Holdens! once the rust is repaired you will have a primered up prem or are you going to get a respray! If you look at holdens on TM there are some that have been on there for well over a year or more as they just dont sell unless they are mint and at a good price.roughies that need work can still be found for around 2k registered/on hold. But are getting harder to find.I dont think you will make much if anything in a hurry by getting it back on the road.

Frankly the OP has taken something that CAN be priced ie the stagia and swapped for something that simply cannot be valued sight unseen
Issues are
1) how bad is the rust! --unknown untill the car is in bits on a hoist.
2) WHY was it deregistered-ie is it an insurance wright off!
3) what mechanical work is required to get it to WOF condition !

On the basis of it being unknown I would have to value the item on worst case senario. That being it turns out to be full of bog and been in an accident requiring engineers inspection. On that basis I feel its worth maximum $2000 as it stands.
Now with compliance done and a fresh WOF on the window that is a totally different story. Sorry ifit ain't what you wanted to hear but thats my honest opinion

HZ details! Photos, colour, mags / steels, standard interior / modified in any way! Mileage on motor / trans! If it's pretty tidy and original it should be worth a bit. They are not complicated cars to work on either, and mechanical parts are not that expensive.Bodywork / panels would be more pricey, but if there is very little rust, I would hope that wouldn't be too bad.Get some photo's for us to see.If you aren't in a rush to sell and find the right person to buy I think you will do alright.Good luck :-)
