the first 2 letters of my xw falcon are ML, apparently they are for the country and plant but i can find out what country and plant they stand for. anyone know! cheers

ML means it was NZ assembled at Fords old Seaview plant, the L actually means Lower Hutt. If it was Australian (Broadmeadows, Melbourne) assembled the chassis code would start with JG.From 1972, ie the commencement of XA assembly at the new Wiri plant the prefix changed to MA, A standing for, you guessed it, Auckland. The last NZ assembled Falcon series was the EB2 in 1993.
