thinking of adding some to my bighorn diesel or is it really just snake oil cheers

edangus, Mar 31, 6:54pm
Yes it does.the snake oil is the diesel you put in.

geminidragon, Mar 31, 6:58pm
i was hoping it would give it a bit of a clean but thought i,d see what people thought on here

I have seen on my own diesel engine good results from Wurth diesel injector clean. I didn't notice too much difference to fuel consumption but the heavy black smoke cleared up

flack88, Mar 31, 7:23pm
Yeah that Wurth is good stuff, all there products good ,not cheap .Using additive every fill of diesel.

geminidragon, Mar 31, 7:50pm
ok sounds good ,where do you buy this wurthdiesel injector cleaner please

whqqsh, Mar 31, 8:03pm
good grief, thats the only time Ive heard good response about a Wurth product, our engineering shop only used Wurth products for a very short time as they were shite, worst were drills, taps, cutting oil, linishing belts, grinding wheels etc

geminidragon, Mar 31, 8:06pm
oh

kramsnave, Mar 31, 8:25pm
I run Wynns edt in my truck every fill and it makes a huge difference, keeps all the injector seals lubricated and healthy, notice the difference if I miss a tank or two

gasngo2, Apr 1, 8:05pm
i find moreys works as well

It's one of those things you should chuck in each service as well. If you just do it once off you won't really notice anything, but you do every service and it will help prevent blockages, seals leaking etc.

At work we put Injector clean into all vehicles except lease vehicles as they won't pay for it . generally its the lease vehicles that have problems first with leaking injector seals/blocked injectors etc

Tank on a car of mine was OE foam filled. Reacted with the fuel turning all the foam into a melted sticky sludge completely gumming up fuel-injection pump, filters, fuel lines, injectors.

intrade, Apr 2, 2:02pm
you need a additive at all times if you dont want seals shrinking and pump wearing its part kaputt. google ulsdproblems to see why you need a addittive at all times in your fuel.
winns edt or, chemtech for just wear protection

kazbanz, Apr 2, 3:45pm
GD -My view is that once most folk think to use the stuff its too late.
I've had good results using the stuff but equal number of times it all had to get pulled out and cleaned manually

primemeat, Apr 2, 4:22pm
I used Moreys in my Prado for years. Started using in my 08 Navara and it started to rattle under load. Stopped using it and it went away.

gadgit3, Apr 2, 4:26pm
You have to be careful what you put in those common rail diesel engines. There is injector cleaners on the market just for them.

n1smo_gtir, Apr 2, 7:44pm
which brand is best for petrol! i've seen wynns, STP, Nulon, warehouse ones that goes for 7-10 bucks a bottle. cheers

steve98h, Apr 3, 4:02pm
we use wurth at work but i think its over priced shit apart from the diesel injector cleaner. use it in my bighorn all the time as it used to blow alot of black smoke when towing my stockcar. run the cleaner now and you would think its a new engine

geminidragon, Apr 3, 5:10pm
so you use the wurth brand of diesel injector cleaner in your bighorn ,my bighorn stutters sometimes and i,m hoping its only a injector ,where do you by the wurth brand steve98h

steve98h, Apr 3, 6:07pm
im not sure where to buy it from as we stock it at work so i just grab it off the shelf in the workshop sorry haha. what year bighorn is it!

phlippy, Apr 3, 7:11pm
Im about to buy a diesel courier with a 2C engine. Never had a diesel before so i should use this injector cleaner stuff every fill!
any other useful tips appreciated
Cheers

2 c is a toyota engine diesel. is this a new vehicle or a toyota transplant. and yes every tank chemtech will be fine for all diesel commonrail and all otherwise specific like winns edt for jappa diesel.
supasheep sell it cheapest

rovercitroen, Apr 4, 7:17am
Intrade, I have read articles about mixing two-stroke oil into the diesel at about 1:200 to 1:300 ratio to achieve fuel system wear protection and better economy. What is your opinion on this! Thanks.

geminidragon, Apr 4, 8:48am
steve its a 96 with 325 thou on the clock

I found the same thing with ProMa's MBL8 (!). Great on bearings and things, but it eats uni's!
