TD42 Overheating

Safari TD42 started over heating today. Got a few km down road and temp went up. Not into red but hot. Took thermostat out and did the boiling water test. Worked fine. No water under rocker cap no water on dipstick. No bubbles when rad cap is off. No visual leaks when running. Im thinking waterpump. Should I take rad out and flush! Any other suggestions!

get the radiator rodded and then you clean out all the leaves and stuff between there and the AC rad while your at it.and do the water pump anyway. better safe then sorry

Righto. Its probably been a long time coming lol Genuine waterpump is only a hundy so not too bad.

Viscous hub too, I always thought they lasted forever but they don't.They do affect the cooling when they clap out.

Its just random that it started overheating without any gradual heating issues that I would expect from a blocked core etc

Change Temp sender unit as well.

Auto or manual

Yea I would check the water pump, Not the viscous fan, thats needed more when pulling loads up hill, you can hear them cut in, It could be the sender unit or possibly the dash gauge.
