i would be suprised if a pw 50 had a powervalve!

Reed valve more like. The carb bolts to it, then it bolts to the motor.

Its a suzuki lt50 not a pw50 only got it a couple of days ago second hand been in storage for a while i put a new plug in it a ngk bpr4hs and went better till it got warm.

quite often the coils start to fail when they warm up

More info required like, how long ago did this problem has occur, was it running fine before hand etc.give us more info please. When you say loses power does it misfire or simply slow, and at what point does it speed up.

Madanic look those little quads are nigh on indestructable and they are like a lawnmower to work on.
A couple of years back my son and I used to buy non runners and rebuild them. They aren't much more complicated than a lawnmower.
So from easiest to hardest here we go. Allowing it has a new plug (that is tight)
The LT50 has a fairly simple manual choke. You start the quad with full choke then back it down to half choke for a minute then finally down to no choke. Fail to do that and the bike runs terribly and gutless when it warms up.
2)Emptly the fuelout and put ina litre of 95 octane fuel in the tank. Just this ONE time. The high octane stuff will mix with whats left in the tank to get you a real 91 ish
3) look at the back of the bike under the back of the seat. You should see 2x wingnuts of M6 bolts holding the seat down.-Undoo those bolts and you can pull the seat/rear plastics off in one piece.
This gets you acess to the oil tank.-Personally I would remove and drain it but at least look at the side of it to be certain the oil in there is all one color. If its in layers then definitely drain it and refill it with MOTORCYCLE two stroke oil -you don't need the expensive stuffbut it must be bike two stroke oil. Incidently if its EMPTY then you have found your problem.
If you are lucky once its got oil in it and the oil feeds through the rings will come back ok but likely you need a top end rebuild-(NOT expensive to do)
4) Next place to look is the air filter.
This sits in a round black bit at the back of the carby. Its a bit of round foam that normally is filled with filter oil. You just need to be sure that its clean and flowing air.
From there You remove the carb -The carb is held on by a "hoseclip" at the back of the head.Loosen the clip and the carb will pul out backwards.
ALL the jets in the carb need to be cleaned out.
Next you remove the exhaust--2 bolts on the head and one up under the seat. The exhaust gets clogged up over time and needs to be cleaned out. I fill them full of drain cleaner -the other way is to burn them out with a torch.--but very smokey/messy job . -You should when the bike is cold get quite a lot of smoke out the exhaust that thins out as the bike warms up.
From there -you can easilly pull the head/off by undooing the four head bolts.-One tip--dont lose the head gasket -its ally and reuseable.
Then you can just lift the barrel out.
You then have a cylinder to send to be rebored.Personally I don't bother reringing an LT -I buy a piston kit .5 overbore for a JR/LT50 and a base gasket. That will cost you less than $150. You take barrel and piston to an engine reconditioner who will charge about $100 to bore the barell
MAKE SURE you tell them you don't want a tight bore. -This avoids seizing the engine on run in.
Bolt it all together and it should run like a new bike.
The last thing is as someone else said that the ignition coils are breaking down. Its rare but it does happen. Trouble is they are quite expensive to buy from suzukiso we hope it isn't that.

last coil i priced 4 a lt50 was 180 plus gst 4 brand new rip off it is cheaper to buy a coil 4 my cr250
