Casey Stoner is to retire from motogp at the end of the season, he wants to spend more time with his wife and new daughter, He has also mentioned he is not enjoying moto gp anymore, cannot blame him its as boring as hell nowdays. Hmmm.may see him in the aussie V8'S afterall he has had a drive of craig lowndes car recently and would keep him closer to home.

Cant say I am suprised. Moto GP has become rather too predictable and lacks any of the adrenaline pumped stuff we might have expected back in the days on Doohan, Rainey, Gardener etc.
Sure times have changed and no doubt the bikes are 100 times better but you dont feel it like ya used to and the riders dont come outta there helmets with those crazy eyes like they just wrestled with the devil and won.

i remember when 500cc was the formula one boring racing and moto GP was kinda ferral but exciting.now moto gp is staid.

no surprise, he has always said that he will not stay in the sport long enough to contest Rossi's total number of championships when asked if that was a goal he wanted to acheive.

Really though, he hasnt the mental fortitude. When the going is good for him, he does great, but for him to sit down, burst into tears, and run away home to Australian, flat out refusing to race in the MIDDLE of a season is unheard of and unacceptable.

He is a great rider, but an even greater whiner when things arent in his favour.

The 500s were never boring. MotoGP has always been - I tried to watch it in the early days and I've given it a couple of goes since, but it's just crapola.

Out of interest do you find it hardly ever in focus and the bikes a blurred together sort of! Its hard to watch. Moto 2 is better at times.
