475350067.
Complied, warranted and registered.
That's very cheap indeed!
(no , I don't know the seller).

bellky, May 16, 1:23pm
They're a heap! Ripoff imo.

xpfairmont, May 16, 2:05pm
to bad I can't do 88MPH

richardmayes, May 16, 2:39pm
I remember the last time one of those was for sale on here. It was similar to that "classic" 70s Toyota that's been discussed at length.

Lots of people asking joke questions about the flux capacitor and whether he'd had it up to 88mph recently.

And an uptight humourless vendor bitching them out one by one.

I thought he would have taken all that in good humour, since all the Back to the Future stuff is the ONLY thing that sets a $30,000 deLorean apart from a $6,000 Porsche 944. which would be a FAR better car all you wanted was an 80s-tastic sports coupe.

(Not that I should tar the seller of THIS deLorean with the same brush, mind you.)

That engine bay looks nasty.

russ18, May 16, 3:39pm
Yep, every F@cker will be asking where the flux capacitor is, no thanks.

murray55, May 16, 3:56pm
Another "classic" advertised for laughable amount .what is it with these owners who think because something is a few years old it is worth $$$$$.
The worst are the old cortina, falcon, holdens which were boring basic transport when new and now are suddenly worth big big $$$$$ .well according to their owners. Check out some of the "classic"listings for a good laugh.

pebbles61, May 16, 4:00pm
Just as bad as those people who own old Mustangs and Porsches lol

robotnik, May 16, 4:57pm
It is also cheaper than some other cars on here by John Delorean such as the Pontiac GTO,

foxdonut, May 16, 5:28pm
This is a bit more than your garden variety Toyota heap of shit, In the states you buy them in about the same nick for around 35-45k.

I wouldn't pay thirty grand for that example myself though.

murray55, May 16, 5:52pm
Yes I agree with you there .a Delorean is a different kettle of fish than some old Toyota/Datsun/Escort/Cortina/H-
Q/ etc etc etc

ema1, May 16, 5:57pm
Could say .used the last one and NLA since"whenever!"

gammelvind, May 16, 6:12pm
Be a bit of a fun toy.

nightboss, May 16, 6:30pm
It is what made it famous that pushes the price up.
Similar to driving the General Lee.

rlr29, May 16, 7:59pm
I could see a supercharged 350 with a huge ram on it sticking out the back of it.

nightboss, May 16, 9:14pm
That is one option, however I like what this guy has done, from the outside it hints that it is a little special, but that powerplant is pure grunt.

If it's had a restoration then it's probably better than when it was new. They had heaps of problems when they hit the show room floors and of course there's always the drugs Delorian was trying to sell to finance the Irish venture if my memory serves me correctly.
I don't know how you can compare this to anything else at all. It was a one off model never to be repeated, even Ace (KISS) managed to write on off and just about killed himself. Having said that, not for me but what a story behind it aye!

richardmayes, May 17, 5:31am
Yes, that's a nice car.

fiatracer, May 17, 5:52am
doesn't seem particularly cheap [compare with a Renault/Alpine GTA for example] but not a bad car. Lotus chassis [essentially] and good mechanical layout means it has good potential. The PRV V6 was seriously choked in the de Loreans, with US market cars only having around 130bhp - but the engine has potential - and is 3/4 of a pretty trick but aborted V8 project. Tuned, or swapped for a modern smallblock V8, even a decent V6, it could be pretty cool [despite all the people that still think it's funny to mention f**x c********s]

phalanax, May 17, 5:53am
Wonder if theres coke with it.lol.didnt delorean leave 100kgs somewhere.lol

motorboy2011, May 17, 6:00am
and dirty!

dr.doolittle, May 17, 6:30am
Probably one of the few cars a shopping mall or promoter would be willing to pay you a few hundred $'s a day just to park it there.
I think it's probably worth about 25k in the current market.

gman35, May 17, 6:41am
As long as the body is good with no rust it should be ok ! .waits.

omega12, May 17, 6:43am
Yeah, you know what's coming. ha ha

tgray, May 17, 8:52am
Rust, whilst obviously not an issue with the stainless steel body, did cause problems underneath the car.
I would be looking very closely on a hoist, before going forward.
That said, it's 30+ years old for goodness sake!
If you look on ebay at USA prices and then take into account this one, it seems very inexpensive.
I guess my point is, you couldn't possibly buy one in the USA and import it and get it on the road for less than the asking price.
