Haven't had anything to do with the Tecate but have built plenty of mid 80s KX250s.

Yeah iv read alot about them, just trying to see if anyone has had one in NZ. seems a very rare bike here.

never heard of it, and if it's slower than a stock banshee i hope you have some goodies for it, because a stock banshee is not a quick machine
still its a 2 stroke, it will be awesome regardless!

They are banshee eaters according to everything2stroke website. Its a quick bike and alot of fun.

They really fly by all acounts.There were hardly any imported into NZ although there are a few websites that mention them in the US and Ebay occasionally has parts for them for sale. Many of the engine parts are identical to the mid 80s KX250 and they certainly weren't slugs.It would be easy to change the few different parts in the engine to get exactly the same performance as the motocross motors.

Yeah iv started collecting parts from ebay, seems to still be plenty of new parts for the engine (piston,rings ect) out there to. Main diff is they run a 6 spd and counter balance shaft.
