Seeing lots of over length ones at work now but not many heavy permits issued yet. Some really nice units being built with multi axles and alloy chassis which the drivers say tow really well. Be interesting to see how the new RUC structure starting in Aug will affect them.

Why do some buses have a CVIU Sticker on the r/h side front windows !

CVIU sticker is issued to vehicles that pass a roadside inspection without any problems. Basicly means they get looked at less from the month it was issued. Kind of a good boy sticker. Speeds up any stops within the month if all things went well and a sticker was issued.

Will have a month and year punched out plus a date on the back. If its over a month old it may as well be pealed off. Level 3 checks include lights, wipers, tyres etc etc. All CVIU staff are trained by qualified mechanics to carry out the basic level 3 checks. The level 3 sticker idea was to reward operators who pass inspections without problems with the idea they would get delayed for less time if stopped within the month. Getting a lot of drivers and operators who activily ask for the stickers and are quite proud of them.
