You want a CDI, or is it stuffed coils, and stalling when really hot! These things were terrible for having crap coils and dying when hot unless the revs were up around 3000 or more. Mine was a nightmare, ended up getting newer GSX-R 750 (I think) coils fitted and presto, problem solved.

Also since you are in Levin, Roger at Levin Motorcycles would instantly know what the problem would be, he's the Suzuki expert, or used to be.sold my Impulse may moons ago.cool wee bike when they are going right.
Gsxr2250 cdi can be used but you need to wsap 2wires .My impulse has gsx11 coils. Stock are unreliable. Erd cdis are ok. Dont believe the extra power claims tho.

Nearly bought one of those new, had a good motor but was known to throw a rod if thrashed too much. Was only$4500 new, as we (NZ) got them cheap as they were not too popular with the different look.

Clark --the leg out of bed bit was mostly the guys that cut the red wire. -ie the rev limiter wire

OP--as stated above several times 1) check your coils first as they were prone to crapping out and 2) ER and D for repulse cdi units
