Anybody know what the charge is for a COF at VTNZ these days! Bought a car transporter last week and want to run it through tomorrow

As said above, if your transporter has a GVM of greater than 6000kg you will need a TSL to obtain a COF. As for what's a COF worth, a lot less than you will pay to get one. That's what happens in a manopoly situation like VTNZ have

ok, assuming its for private use and the GVM is 5650 does that mean no need for TSL!

Yep, all good in that case. Vehicles under 6000kg no longer require a TSL

cost me $110 at vtnz sockburn for a chev silverado

$117 at VTNZ Seaview, $22 for a recheck on brakes. Also a COF only lasts 6 months regardless of age, so a brand new light truck can still only get a 6 month COF. Neighbour got caught out with that.

A car Transporter will also need a Tow authority.
