What are you guys using,my 351c I would classify as mildly tuned, what would you recommend!

Personally, I would be running 95. But without knowing the tuning/timing specifics its hard to say. Getting a tune with an exhaust probe attached to get actual air/fuel ratios correct with the fuel of your choice would be the way to go IMO.

Low compression is fine with 91, higher compression or charging needs 95.

You might find it'll suck more 91/km than it would using 95. Don't forget to put an additive in for the valves.

Id run 95 in it depending on the compression and cam profile. Ran my 10:1 HQ on 95 and it was happy. In fact I run all my cars on 95. Wouldn't put anything less in it.

C16, whats that worth now ! $200+ a drum! At least i was getting Avgas at the same price as 95 octane at the pumps.

How old is the motor! If it was rebuilt, it may already have hardened seats! I got mine set up to not need the additive.Wouldn't bother with anything more than 98 at most, as the motor won't need it.

It is a 74 motor & has been sitting in my garage for last 5 years,finally getting it up & running,I would say motor has had some sort of rebuild but not sure about hardened valves.If I put additive in would it cause any damage if they had been installed!

He didn't say 302 heads, just 2v heads.If they are 302 heads it's not going to be very happy even on 98 I wouldn't have thought.Hopefully they are just 351 heads and it will be fine.I owned a car once that had to have octane booster / best gas in it all the time - never again, too much hassle.That was why the HQ 383 was set up to run on 95 happily.OP are they 302 or 351 heads!
