Old coolant.

how would you (legally) dispose of old coolant that you've drained during an engine rebuild! Need to get rid of about 8 litres. Thanks in advance.

Many councils say down the sewer (NOT stormwater) as you collect it. Don't save it until you have a lot of it.

Take it to a garage, they may be prepared to dispose of it for you
