AA inspection booked on one of our cars and I'd forgottent to do an oil change. So it had to be in the back (concrete) Yard. So up on ramps. Sump plug out and leave her standing . Change the filter. a couple of hours laterI asked my groomer to put the sump plug back in and roll the car down so I could put fresh oil in the car. Done deal all happy. Inspector looks the car over and near as I can tell its a great inspection. Customer rings VERY unhappy.--Major oil leak noted by the AA inspector Not happy to procede with the sale. You guessed it -wind and oil mist had done a great job coating under the car with oil. No the groomer diddn't "notice" Yea I could blame the AA guybut he has to report what he sees and frankly it was pretty wet under there

Note to self.next time do oil change after AA inspection! It's amazing how many dumb-ass inspectors are around.mate just about got his taxi knocked back on a COF because of an 'engine water leak' which was actually the air con water drain operating normally.he soon put the inspector right!

Ya just gotta love some customers . They all seem to think that there is at least 6k in every car . Even those on special and that every dealer has to have their shirts custom made to fit over the fin on their back . Yet they them selves seem to forget to tell you about how the car they are trading over heats on any thing that resembles an up hill slope . Or how they got a rust warning on the last wof inspection .

Dang how annoying. The AA guy should've realised where the oil had come from on an otherwise clean engine - seeing oil coming from the sump plug area. At worse he might have though the plug wasn't tight. The punter buying the car should've been smart enough to get your explanation. (love the shark reference)

NOPE--sorry mate but in this case the buck stops here. It was a right ol mess under there. The breeze had blown a nice mist of oil everywhere under the engine. LUCKILY for me dad stepped into the conversation. The car is getting a reinspection today at my expense and it'll be on a hoist so if theres a hint of oil leak theyll pick it up.
