I think we will look at a Toyota next car. I have bought a few parts for the pug on TM Like $50.00 for a second hand petrol cap . 200 hundred for rear belts and a ripped back seat, also bought aspring .Saying that I dont have the skills to remove parts .

happs1, Jun 11, 4:34pm
Wouldnt the GT parts work on a GTI!

mugenb20b, Jun 11, 4:38pm
Did you pay someone to do all the work on your car!

vtecintegra, Jun 11, 4:40pm
I'm no Peugeot guy but I think mostly no - the GT has the same running gear as the other 205s and the GTI is largely unique

neo_psy, Jun 11, 4:40pm
How on earth does this happen! Do you drive it in rallys!

supernova2, Jun 11, 4:42pm
How could you need 3 sets of brake pads in3 months!Who or what is/was doing the work on the car for you! Also how much you hoping to get if you sell the car - might be interested!

happs1, Jun 11, 4:56pm
Yes paid someone to work on the car. The right front wheel start smoking one day real bad. I thought the tyre was on fire . So the calipers seal kit was replaced . Also all the discs and the rear drums, Brake hoses , and the brake pads as they turned to weetbixs. 1600.00 worth of work .Then it happened again so another set of pads then and another seal kit. Then it happened again with that wheel . Everything was replace and the guy couldnt work out why . It turned out to be the Master cycliner was keeping the bracks on the machanic said . So another set of pads .

happs1, Jun 11, 4:57pm
205 gt is really that different to a 205 GTI . I wish I had the i . lol

happs1, Jun 11, 4:59pm
Pug Machanic from over the northshore .At the mo the car is broken down in Waihi , with what we think is a snapped clutch cable . The clutchand cable is 3 weeks old. My daughter is trying to get home to Putaturu as we speak. Im so gutted I kept replacing parts thinking nothing else would go wrong , again and again, Im such a Dumb A$$ !

supernova2, Jun 11, 5:08pm
Can but wonder where that mechanic gained his qualifications. My 10 yr old granddaughter could do a better job and she knows absolutely nothing about pugs! She thought it was a dog.On reflection she might be right!

kazbanz, Jun 11, 5:29pm
Happs-um yea you spent a lot on the car but unless I'm wrong you can't sell the parts youve replaceed many times.
Best bet is to sell the whole car as a rego'd wof'd "project'

tonyrockyhorror, Jun 11, 5:34pm
Sounds like your 'mechanic' is simply incompetent. 2 new clutches and cables and 3 sets of brake pads. I'm no fan of these surrender monkey carriers but even I wouldn't say they're _THAT_ bad.

Mind you, you're not much better. There's some serious smells that alert you when brakes are dragging.

happs1, Jun 11, 5:41pm
There was more than one machanic . Why didn't 3 of them pick up on Brakes dragging ! My daughter pulled over straight away when she saw smoke . When the master cylinder was replaced my daughter said straight away that she felt the car was not sticking like is was.Daughter is 18 . Yep she know jack about cars as I do.

happs1, Jun 11, 5:42pm
Cheers Kazbanz for your advice I will take that :~) How you be these days !

wellystretch, Jun 11, 5:42pm
I know a guy in West Auckland that buys and restores them, he's always on the lookout for them. I could pass along contact details if you wanted.

happs1, Jun 11, 5:43pm
If it Terry I will pass on that dude .

tonyrockyhorror, Jun 11, 5:45pm
Then they're all incompetent.

Dragging brakes aren't a visitation of fate. They drag for one of many reasons and a brief test drive should instantly make someone mechanically competent notice they are dragging.

wellystretch, Jun 11, 5:55pm
Cool, I don't know him that well, just know that he's into 205s

happs1, Jun 11, 6:33pm
Is it him!

msigg, Jun 11, 7:44pm
sounds like alot of bad luck and a worn out car(they don't do big milages)best to sell the whole for as much as you can and start again. Too depressing. Good luck.

trogedon, Jun 12, 4:45am
Sad story. If its only the clutch cable have it replace then sell as a going concern. Undriveable cars are worth so little.
