No harm in trying, you might not be able to get a lower price but maybe score some extras, better tyres, roof rack, tow bar or such like. Cash isn't only negotiable component in a sale.

dont tell them what you can afford, tell them what you're going to give them for it.- make a realistic offer below window price and dont make it look like they can beat you back up to that price.
i would say make comparisons to the price of the other utes, but they are already 20k cheaper lol.- that said it is a lesser ute than the hilux / navara / amarok / ranger etc

have you checked them all out that mitsi price is + gst + on roads ++. some better utes like bt 50, ranger, navara, colorado, may come close to mitsi price and you get a better ute with better resale for free. p:s dont buy anything until you have driven the latest ranger.

Been a long time since a new hilux could be considered a top ute.A new lower spec' ST navara would be very close in price to the charger, and a DX would be cheaper - although very basic.
would interested in how you get on.

They mitsi's seem to be holding their values on trademe.we wont be selling for a while - we cant afford brand new ford or nissan - we only want to spend around $42,000.Thats the charger price with all the extras.going to look at dodge nitro and ssangyong (spelling!)also before we decide today
