are they compilcated ! smacked into the curd today driving in snow and front wheel pushed back! any help please

depends entirely on the car - but yes generally not a difficult exercise. I would be checking the suspension arms and mountings for damage too.

What colour is the car! Blue cars are easy to work on. however red cars are always a real pain to work on.
It may not be just the strut that's damaged too. other suspension components may have taken a hit too

Struts are easy, what may be hard is you could have potentially bent the chassis particually where the lower control arm hinges off. The lower control arm may be toast, I would have expected the strut to be the least affected part.
You need a pro to have a look at it. Ring your insurance because it will probably cost more than your excess to fix
