Mr Sossie says, when he was an apprentice, they were putting the flooring down, then asked him to go under the floor to get something, and then they tried to nail the last bit of flooring down and trap him.

Many moons ago, there was an apprentice from Croatia we worked with, and English was his second language.

When he was doing the smoko orders, someone ordered a Randy Tart. hehehehe.

It was so long ago I can't remember what exactly what happened when he phoned the order through, but he he did try to order it in all his innocence. And when it was unavailable he couldn't understand why we found it so funny. LOL.

We sent a fella to get a bucket of steam one day, when he came back we had him on that it got out as he forgot the lid. He headed back off to the engineering dept (they had a steam pipe), and came back with said bucket with a lid on it. Good times lol

It`s not always apprentices that get caught.i worked for a big trucking company in the early 60`s, .just before a know it all driver took delivery of a brand new TK Bedford, a couple of apprentice mechanics, went to the store and got an Eaton, two speed diff. change button and switch and fixed it onto the gear lever, running a bit of cable through the rubber boot. It looked the real thing, but the truck didn`t have a two speed diff.
It seemed that everyone knew about the prank, except the driver, who , after a few days, went to the workshop foreman, complaining that his eaton diff wasn`t changing all the time, he said it had worked fine for a few days. Those apprenticekids kept out that driver`s way for months.

Another prank, was sending new truck drivers to pick up a load of " Post Holes "

worked on a construction site where I was given a jack hammer to break concrete piles up.
I struggled like hell with this big jack hammerand after a few days of exausting back breaking work and a weird feeling that I was being watched and laughed at, I was finally told I was using a full sized portable jackhammer that was way to heavy for the job at hand.

Never did get my revenge

I had an apprentice who took 18 mths to figure out that taking the fan off and turning it over DID not blow the dust back out of the radiator fins, and every time he had done it to one particular gents car when it was in for service ( cos thats what I'd told him the gent required) the rest of the staff would let him carry one with a smile

skin1235, Jul 10, 6:59pm
same apprentice had the nic "woody",- when asked to cut a patch for an old ute deck he fired up the gas axe to slice of a piece of 6x1
