Clicking universal joint?

ridingcountry, Jul 6, 7:57am
Hi, I am looking at buying a cheaper older car (1997) and the universal joint clicking is listed as the only known defect - and also says that is quite common and not a safety issue.the car is warranted.

Since I know nothing about cars. zip, zero, nuffin. could someone who does know tell me if this is true - and confirm it isn't likely to be an issue!

Cheers :o)

Its a 1997 Mazda Familia Sedan and the ad says "The only known minor defect is an occasional clicking universal joint on the driveshaft on one side.not unusual for cars in this price bracket and not dangerous!"

It was just warranted this week for another 6 months so thats got to be OK!

Ummm.is a CV joint bad! lol

I would get it fixed sooner than later.

100% Your CV's. Really simple to do yourself if you are slightly mechanical. Otherwise I know that our mechanic charges $30+GST per joint + Parts which shouldn't exceed $100 a joint. Normally way cheaper though!
